Sahat Yalkabov Creates a TV Show Tracker using AngularJS, Node.js and MongoDB
Wednesday 18 Jun 2014 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm
This month, Sahat Yalkabov will be treating us to a full hour of make-it-from-scratch-fast live-coding. When we're all done, we'll all be wiser and left with a working TV show tracker.
The final product will be cool, but more importantly we'll see everything it takes to get there - starting completely from scratch. Along the way he'll will cover building a REST API with Express, Authentication and Signup process with Passport, using Mongoose to interact with MongoDB. He'll build the entire front-end with Angular.js and Bootstrap SASS. Use a third-party API and XML parser to obtain information about TV shows and episodes. Thrown in will be using SendGrid to send emails. And finally we'll see how to use Gulp.js to optimize JS and CSS assets, followed by deploying the entire project to Heroku.
Thanks, as always to Shutterstock for hosting us!

Patrik Ring - A/B testing is a great way of knowing if the changes you just made to your code and design are actually better. Patrik will walk through how setting up your own A/B testing as a service isn't that hard and how they built theirs at Bloglovin.
