Case study: node.js at

Wednesday 7 Dec 2011 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm

By Craig Spaeth At we currently use node on a project for our content management application. We give our gallery partners the ability to manage their artworks on themselves without the overhead of asking our team to change something like pricing information. Built to be a single page application using Backbone.js to organize the heavy client-side code. Node is used as a server to serve up the initial page and act as a proxy to our API. However, the beauty of it comes with the incredible increase of development productivity thanks to really nice testing tools such as jasmine-node, zombie.js, and faking our API responses by firing up a separate node server when running the test suite. It's also nice to have seamless asset compilation of Stylus, Jade, and Coffeescript.
